HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

It is the policy of McQuade Marine to strive for the highest safety standard. Safety does not occur by chance. It is the result of careful attention to all company operations by those who are directly and indirectly involved. Crew at all levels are obliged to work diligently to execute the company policy of maintaining safety and occupational health.

We adopt as a minimum standard, the legislative requirements necessary under Federal and State Health and Safety Laws in which the organisation operates. McQuade Marine is committed to ongoing support for the company safety program, to increase skills and awareness, for continuous improvement.

McQuade Marine also recognises their responsibility for the safety of the crew, public, vessel plant and equipment, and takes all practical steps to ensure their safety program extends to include all associations.

The Company recognises that although official assessments and checks are made, these do not substitute for direct inspection by the person ‘doing the job’ who can do as much as anyone to prevent accidents. Any recommendations to improve our safety program are encouraged.

The main aims of McQuade Marine's workplace health & safety policy are to:

• complete projects with a zero-harm objective

• Complete regular toolbox meetings and preform safety inductions and review with new and current staff.

• install and maintain machinery in a safe manner.

• develop and provide documentation for safe working systems.

• eliminate risk related to the handling of substances or plant used in the workplace.

• provide adequate protection for workers and visitors from known hazards.

• ensure required certifications for personnel skills are current.

• develop joint consultation and participation between management and personnel to promote and maintain a safe and healthy

environment.

• develop a workplace rehabilitation program which will return workers to meaningful employment as soon as practical.

• company support for ongoing advancement and development through training, courses and research.

• ships safety equipment and emergency drills are maintained

The organisation is committed to provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health
